Past Projects

We have worked on many projects over the years and here are some to help you get a feel for the wide range of work we have done. Each project has a rough size description (small, medium, large) and a few general details about the project. Contact us for more information on any of these.

Skills: Java, SQL Server, C#

Java and .NET e-commmerce applications for a variety of niche markets. Work included architectural design, requirements gathering, technical support, document creation for internal and external users, and a variety of other technical tasks required to build, maintain and update the roughly half dozen sites. A move to responsive design was part of the enhancements on a couple of the sites.

Skills: PHP, MySQL

PHP application using MySQL that delivers online education to thousands of students across hundreds of campuses. This included design of new features as well as maintenance and user support.

Skills: Vision, Team-Building, Solution Architecture

Bring an outsourced java web application (two products) in house, create a build process, create a development team including QA, and take any other steps needed to go from virtual to software company. We built a full software development team over a period of roughly 18 months and simplified a hodge podge of technologies and approaches into a Java Spring application that used Postgres for the database and Jasper for Reporting.

Skills: Vision, Team-Building, Solution Architecture, Gather Requirements

Assess an existing java web application for viability and provide a plan to reboot the project with an outsourced developer or team and then manage them to ensure project success. This initially was a small project where we were just asked to make some fixes, but we grew to help them assess the system viability and plan out a reboot of the project.

Skills: C#, API

C# Windows application that utilizes the Trading Technologies API to monitor the market and cancel trades based on specific business logic. This was essentially a proof of concept application developed over a period of a few weeks.

Skills: Solution Architecture, Gather Requirements, C#, SQL Server

Worked with design and implementation of a C# application aimed at the medium to large construction contracting companies as a complete back office system. Utilized MS MSQL Server for the back end. This project was designed from the start to be one that we handed off to the project owner so they could enhance and build the application using their own skills and resources rather than continue to utilize us. This reduced cost and ensured they had complete control and ownership of their project.

Skills: Solution Architecture, Gather Requirements, PHP, MySQL

Designed, implemented, and tested a new social networking site. PHP and MySQL development with deployment using Amazon's Cloud Features. (AWS) This never launched and instead was a moderately functional proof-of-concept that was used to shop for investors.

Skills: Solution Architecture, Design, Python/Django, MySQL

Design and implementation of a Django based social networking web site that includes Flex work to integrate with Google Maps Flash control. Uses MySQL for the database. This site launched and had a small user base. Development was always on new features and enhancements.

Skills: Solution Architecture, Gather Requirements, Design, Project Planning

Design and detailed specification of multiple sites including a social networking site, a document management/inventory management application and a complex catalog generation and management application. This encapsulates several projects for different customers where our skills in design and requirement definition proved to be instrumental in projects that were successfully launched. In some cases were successfully killed before a lot of money was sunk into them due to lack of product viability that would not normally have been determined until much later in the project cycle.

Skills: Solution Architecture, C#, SQL Server, Disconnected Clients

C# front end and PHP back end for providing a C# "smart client" that keeps local data and web server data in sync even in an environment that is not always connected. The primary target customer for this application is insurance assessors for homes and businesses so they have a way to easily note information about an assessment and include the required pictures.

Skills: Solution Architecture, Gather Requirements, PHP, Java MySQL

Conversion of a small business vendor site from PHP using email to a Java application with a relational database on the back end. Included data validation upgrades and redesign to conform with standards and ease maintanence. The target market was families and nannies that needed to connect. On the back end the nannies were validated/verfied and this site served as a vetting service as well as a way to connect.

Basic E-Commerce site with shopping cart and a few tricky parts.

Skills: Access, Report Design, MySQL

Basic Member management application written in C#. Converted from an Access application. This only has 5-10 reports. The customer was a non-profit and the support of the application lasted for several years that included some maintenance and enhancements. Outside of general member and contact management, this application was used to track events, tickets sold, and attendees.

Skills: Access, Report Design, MySQL

Conversion from an Access DB to MySQL including report upgrades. The 100+ reports in Access were intelligently combined to reduce the number of reports to less than 50 and a relational DB was used to speed response times and ease data entry issues.

Skills: Access, Report Design, MySQL, J2EE

J2EE struts application to track inventory and customer shipments for a company. This was also a conversion from an Access based system.

Skills: Report Design, Postgres, Java

Maverick based web application to manage documents in PDF format. Client had millions of documents to manage internationally.

Skills: PHP, MySQL

Site that uses MySQL, and Filemaker to manage test results and members. Uses Authenticate.net
